Brazil's Central Bank launched Pix, a new nationwide real-time payment system, that has transformed money movement inside the country. Launched in November of 2020, within a year, over 62% of Brazil's population had adopted Pix, including businesses and consumers. It is created to facilitate both person to person payments and business transactions and has 113 million users. We at Money20/20 had to learn more, and were luckily able to discuss it with the person responsible for running it- Carlos Eduardo Brandt, Deputy Head of the Dept of Competition and Financial Market Structure of the Central Bank of Brazil- or as he calls himself- the person in charge of Pix.
