Biography

As the Chief Information Officer (CIO) and Chief Product Officer (CPO) for the Corporate Bank and the CIO for Anti-Financial Crime (AFC) at Deutsche Bank, Joanne Hannaford leads the technology strategy and delivery for the global corporate banking business and the AFC division. Joanne is passionate about using technology to innovate, solve problems, and drive the digital agenda forward in a highly regulated and competitive industry. In her role at Deutsche Bank, Joanne has been instrumental in driving the bank's digital transformation and engineering excellence to enhance the bank's technology infrastructure and improve operational efficiencies.

Prior to joining Deutsche Bank, Joanne was the Chief Technology and Operations Officer (CTOO) and Executive Board member at Credit Suisse, where she oversaw the technology and operations functions across the bank, achieving significant cost savings, operational efficiencies, and customer satisfaction. Post the acquisition Joanne was asked by UBS to focus on Americas Wealth Management Technology. She also has extensive experience as a CTO for major engineering functions. Prior to Credit Suisse, Joanne was at Goldman Sachs for twenty-five years, the last decade as a partner in engineering.

Joanne’s professional interests are centered on providing access to technical skills to all aspects of society. In this capacity she is a Member of the Royal Academy Industry Group, Trustee for Founders4Schools, a Major in the British Army Staff Corp, and former member of the UK Government Digital Advisory Group (2015- 2020). In 2024 Joanne received an honorary fellowship from both Queen Mary University London and University College London for her dedication and achievements to diversity in STEM.
