Bruno Batavia is Director of Emerging Technologies at Valor Capital Group, a New York-based venture capital firm with a track record of early bets on category-defining fintech companies — including Coinbase, Circle, Bitso, and Stone. At Valor, Bruno leads the firm's emerging technology investment thesis, with a focus on the infrastructure and applications of AI and blockchain in financial services — from digital asset rails and tokenized markets to AI-native fintech platforms across US, LATAM, MENA and SEA.

He brings over 13 years of senior leadership at Brazil's Central Bank (BCB), where he was most recently PM of the Digital Real (DREX) — Brazil's CBDC and Tokenization initiative, ranked #1 globally in finance by the Project Management Institute's (PMI) Top 50 Most Influential Projects of 2022. He also coordinated the Brazilian Tokenization Working Group — a joint task force with the Capital Markets Authority — and authored the central bank's first-ever working paper on digital currencies.

A recognized global voice on the future of money, Bruno holds an MPA from Columbia University, and was named one of Global Government Fintech's "23 People to Watch in 2023" alongside leading central bankers and regulators worldwide.
