Session Information

Robert Hackett is a reporter at Fortune where he covers technology, business, cybersecurity, and all things crypto-related. He helps assemble many of Fortune’s biggest franchises, including the Fortune 500, Best Companies to Work For, 40 Under 40, and World’s Greatest Leaders lists. In addition to writing for Fortune.com and the magazine, he regularly appears on video series such as Fortune Tech Debate and Fortune Live, and has appeared as a guest on radio programs such as WNYC’s Brian Lehrer Show. He writes a weekend column for Fortune’s tech newsletter Data Sheet, and has moderated panels at Fortune Brainstorm Tech, Structure Security, and elsewhere on subjects ranging from the digital disruption of media, to cryptocurrencies and blockchain technologies, to machine learning.

Prior to joining Fortune in June 2014, Robert served in various roles at Nautilus magazine, TED Conferences, and Johnson & Johnson. His work has appeared on Time, VICE Motherboard, and Chemical & Engineering News, among other places. Robert holds a B.A. in Chemistry & Chemical Biology and English with a double minor in History and Science & Technology Studies from Cornell University, and an M.S. from the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism. He plays the bass guitar and is based in New York.
