With a 30-year career in global financial, fintech, telecom and fast moving consumer goods sector, Odilon Almeida brings a leadership style anchored in growth acceleration and business turnarounds involving digital transformation, organic growth and successful M&A.

His board experience, along with business leadership at Western Union, Millicom, BankBoston now Bank of America, The Coca-Cola Company and Colgate-Palmolive, has given him deep knowledge of corporate governance, general management, technology platforms, regulatory and compliance as well as consumer insights of developed and emerging nations.

Currently, Odilon Almeida is the President of the Americas and European Union at the Western Union Corporation. With a 14-year tenure, Almeida is spearheading the digital transformation and growth of the company. He leads 98 countries and territories across North America, Latin America, the Caribbean and European Union.

Presently, Almeida is also a non-executive director to Nasdaq listed Millicom International, a leading telecommunications and media company. Millicom provides a range of mobile services, cable TV, broadband and content across Africa and Latin America, connecting people to the internet and making the digital lifestyle a reality. It serves over 56 million customers in fourteen countries. He also serves as Chairman of the Compliance and Business Conduct Committee and a member of the Audit Committee.

He has a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from Maua Engineering School in São Paulo, Brazil, and in Business Administration from University of São Paulo, and also holds an MBA in Business Administration with specialization in Marketing from Getulio Vargas Foundation, São Paulo. He advanced his education with executive studies at IMD Lausanne, The Wharton School, and Harvard Business School.
