Session Information

Kara joined Walmart in June 2011 and currently serves as Director Payment Services.  In this role, she has responsibility for in-store acceptance of Credit and Debit products and projects relating to these tender types for Walmart and Sam’s Club.  Her role also focuses on acquiring and payment card relationships.  Prior to this role, Kara had responsibility for the global closed-loop gift card program, helping to expand the program beyond traditional gifting with programs such as 1-Hour Guarantee, Pre-sale video games and the Humana Vitality program.  

Kara previously worked for eight years at RaceTrac Petroleum in Atlanta, leading the team responsible for the acceptance of electronic payments and the company’s co-branded credit card.  Prior to her role at RaceTrac, Kara also worked at Radiant Systems (now part of NCR) for two years.  Kara graduated from Georgia Tech with a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial and Systems Engineering, and completed her MBA at the University of Arkansas in August 2014.  She was honored as one of the “Most Influential Women in Payments” in 2015 and 2016.
