Session Information

Joe DePaulo is chairman, CEO and co-founder of College Ave Student Loans.  Mr. DePaulo and his team founded College Ave in August 2014, setting out to make borrowing for college simple, clear and personalized.  College Ave is already the most comprehensive student loan company in the industry.  

Prior to College Ave Mr. DePaulo was CFO of Sallie Mae, where he led the company through a spin transaction.  He served as director of the company as well as director of the Sallie Mae Bank.  Earlier, Mr. DePaulo served as chief marketing officer, building the lending and deposit-taking franchise that would later become an independent bank following the spin.  

Mr. DePaulo previously served as CEO and co-founder of Credit One Financial Solutions, a consumer finance company that marketed personal loans to prime borrowers.  Prior to Credit One, he held several executive positions at MBNA, including U.S. Card Group Executive and member of the corporate management committee.

Mr. DePaulo received an AB degree from Georgetown University and an MBA degree from the Amos Tuck School at Dartmouth College.   He serves as a trustee of the George F. Baker Trust at Georgetown University and director of The Grand Opera House of Wilmington, Delaware.
