Session Information

Daniel leads MasterCard’s business across Sub-Saharan Africa as Division President. He also heads the Financial Inclusion pillar for MasterCard’s International Markets, comprising of over 200 countries.

In this role, Daniel is primarily focused on establishing MasterCard’s brand presence, deploying innovative payment solutions and partnering with governments and market regulators. He brings with him over 24 years of finance, consulting and relationship management experience. Working across the banking, manufacturing and distribution, technology and payment industries.

Daniel started his career at MasterCard in 2006 as Vice President and Regional Finance Officer for the company’s Toronto office in Canada. Prior to joining MasterCard, he held senior finance roles at Hewlett-Packard and Ashland Inc.

Daniel is a recipient of the Fellow of the Chartered Professional Accountants of Canada (FCPA) designation, a national award of distinction. He also serves on the Professional Accountants in Business (PAIB) Committee of the International Federation of Accountants (IFAC).

Passionate about making the lives of people around him better, his community-focused volunteer efforts are based on leadership development among the youth, entrepreneurs and professionals.

He received a Masters of Business Administration (MBA) degree from Queen's University, Ontario, Canada, and a Bachelor of Science (Honors) degree in Accounting from the University of Lagos, Nigeria. He has earned the Canadian Chartered Professional Accountants (CPA), the U.S. Certified Public Accountants (CPA), and Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (FCA) designations.
