Dara Tarkowski is the Chief Innovation Strategist at quointec, llc., the reg-tech subsidiary of Actuate Law, where Dara is also the Managing Partner. With a combined passion for innovation, finance, and the law, Dara has leveraged her legal experience to form quointec. Quointec leverages technology, including AI and machine leaerning, to develop innovative solutions to automate the delivery of legal and compliance advice for highly regulated industries, including financial services. Dara also sits on the Advisory Board to FinTEx, the FinTech trade association for the Midwest United States.

In her legal practice, Dara represents a variety of clients with concentrations in non-bank financial services companies, FinTech and RegTech startups, and other clients in a variety of regulatory and litigation matters. Specifically, Dara has represented clients in both criminal and civil matters before state attorneys general, the CFPB, FTC, SEC, and other U.S. state and federal regulators. Additionally, Dara advises clients on cybersecurity regulations, records retention, defensible disposition and document management, U.S. and international requirements on data privacy and security, data breach issues and response, and the preservation and production of electronically stored information.
